Alexandra Tallen grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota before going to college in Washington, D.C. where
she studied French literature and theatre. After moving to Paris in 1999, she worked for several years as
a literary and historical researcher and as a translator specializing in film scripts and subtitles. Passionate
about food and cooking since childhood, Alexandra decided to attend culinary school for formal training.
After a fascinating year spent at the Ritz-Escoffier Culinary School in Paris and an apprenticeship in the
Ritz kitchen, she received the Grand Diplôme from the École Ritz- Escoffier in 2008.
